DM Plastics & Steel is a South Australian, family-owned manufacturer of polyethylene (PE) pipe, fittings and specialty rural products.
Since 1981, we’ve grown from a small northern-Adelaide shopfloor to a national supplier for rural, irrigation, mining, civil and commercial projects with strong logistics and project support — while staying proudly local and customer-led.
We manufacture HDPE pipe and supply fittings from 16mm – 630 mm in diameter, and we partner with blue-chip customers, Tier-1 contractors and government authorities to deliver reliable infrastructure across Australia.
“Producing Solutions” means practical engineering, fast decisions and accountable delivery.
We help you:
Comprehensive metric HDPE for potable water, sewer, recycled water, fire mains, gas and industrial services — including Potable Water (Blueline), Gas (yellow), Sewer (cream), Fire mains (red), Recycled water (lilac), plain black and Lo-Heat (white co-ex) variants for heat control and visibility in exposed runs. (Co-ex and identification stripes to Australian practice.)
Premium Rural “B” green-stripe and Rural Cool (white co-ex) coils for stock and station water movement, long fence-line runs and farm reticulation. Rural pipe is ID-sized for fittings compatibility and typically rated PN8 (850 kPa @ 20 °C); Rural Cool’s reflective skin reduces thermal movement and keeps stock water cooler on exposed lines.
Black, lilac co-ex and white co-ex LDPE options for irrigation and viticulture service where lower pressures and easy handling are required.
Electrical (orange co-ex) and communications (white co-ex) HDPE conduit for cable protection in civil, mining and utilities works.
Livestock fencing systems, Poly-Dropper™ accessories and colour-coded options (black for sheep & cattle, white for horses/vermin and orange for kangaroo deterrence) for durable, low-maintenance fence runs.
Steel Vinstakes & extension posts, Prudent™ trellis clip system, poly wire-ties, bird-net caps and associated supports built for long vineyard service life.
For system completeness, we carry a full suite covering compression fittings (rural/metric), electrofusion, fabricated, moulded, butt-welded fittings, backing rings — for buildable, spec-compliant systems across water, gas and industrial services.
Polpro riser pipe (threaded/unthreaded polypropylene risers) for bores and troughs, and the polypropylene windmill system — non-rusting columns, sockets, stabilisers, medium-depth and heavy-duty pull-rods.
We supply infrastructure across:
Rural poly pipe, fencing, Polpro risers and windmill hardware engineered for Australian farms, stations and pastoral operations.
From open-field irrigation to vineyards, orchards and turf, DM Plastics & Steel manufactures complete PE systems that move water efficiently across large and small schemes. Our Producing Solutions approach means we help you design, select and deliver systems that reduce joins, reduce heat issues and last decades.
End-to-end vineyard solutions combining metric/rural HDPE mains and LDPE laterals with our specialist accessories: Steel Vinstakes & extension posts, Prudent™ trellis clip system, poly wire-ties, bird-net caps and supports. Designed for long service life, UV stability and quick installation across new plantings and renewals, with valves and fittings to suit block layouts and pump configurations.
Metric HDPE families (potable, sewer, recycled water, fire mains) and non-pressure conduit for trench/open-cut and trenchless programs; full fittings suite for constructability.
Metric HDPE including plain black and white co-ex for dewatering, process water and trunklines, with fabricated fittings and backing rings for site assemblies.
Metric HDPE (blue/black), yellow stripe for gas, cream stripe for sewer and red stripe for fire main applications with compression/electrofusion fittings and QA support.
Orange co-ex electrical, white co-ex communications and sub-duct HDPE conduit for cable protection in linear and urban works.

We engineer the largest sized project coils available on the market, to maximise metres per load, reduce the number of fittings, reduce install time and minimise product wastage on long linear assets. Lifting/unreeling equipment is available; special handling is recommended.
Design input, product selection, SDR/PN advice and logistics planning from concept through commissioning — one decision-chain from factory floor to leadership.
In house state of the art testing facilities, formal ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO Type 5, WaterMark certification, SA Water approval and a WSAA appraisal support reliability and traceability.
Our culture prioritises safety, technical discipline, integrity and long-term partnerships.
Fast decisions, honest lead times, transparent communication.
At DM Plastics & Steel, our values guide every decision, from the workshop to the worksite.
Clear decision-making, honest lead times, accountable delivery, and long-term relationships. These aren’t slogans — they’re how we operate every day on the floor and in the field.
We operate under an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, supported by in-house, state-of-the-art testing. This framework keeps our processes disciplined from material selection through production, verification and release, so customers can specify our products with confidence. WaterMark certification to AS/NZS 4130 and ISO Type 5 Accreditation for metric pressure pipe underpins compliance on regulated works.
There is no job worth doing if it cannot be done safely — and safety is everyone’s responsibility. We plan work with a safety-first mindset and clear accountability on the floor and in the field, so people have the authority to stop and speak up, and the training and support to work well.
We measure ourselves against four values. Safety — zero-harm mindset and shared responsibility. Excellence — working together to produce the best outcomes. Integrity — do what’s right and do what we say we’ll do. Respect — openness, trust, teamwork, diversity and mutually beneficial relationships. These aren’t negotiable; they’re the standards we hold ourselves to with customers, partners and each other.
We operate as one team. That means responsibility for our actions, performance and outcomes; accountability for our decisions and conduct; transparency and early issue-sharing; and clear communication where everyone has a voice and is expected to listen well. This culture is why we move quickly, keep promises and stay easy to deal with.
Our quality credentials and industry engagement include ISO 9001:2015, ISO Type 5, WaterMark certification, SA Water approval and a WSAA appraisal. We participate in the Water Services Association of Australia, Civil Contractors Federation (SA), Irrigation Australia and PIPA to remain aligned with best practice and evolving standards.
“Producing Solutions” is our commitment to improve every cycle — in product reliability, integrity and cost-effectiveness — through in-house R&D, practical innovation and disciplined QA. It’s how we’ve grown and why customers trust our results.
At DM Plastics & Steel, sustainability is a core part of how we design, manufacture and supply our PE pressure and rural pipe products. Our systems are built to last — reducing replacement frequency, conserving resources and supporting resilient water networks across Australia.
We use certified PE compounds, highly efficient extrusion processes and strict ISO 9001 quality controls to achieve exceptional durability with minimal waste. Every pipe is manufactured to meet the demanding requirements of AS/NZS 4130 and AS 2698.2, ensuring long-term performance in even the harshest environments.
From how we source materials to how we package, store and deliver our products, we follow best-practice environmental guidelines that minimise energy use, reduce scrap and support responsible recycling.
The result is simple: DM Plastics & Steel delivers stronger, cleaner and longer-lasting pipe solutions that help councils, utilities and contractors build sustainable infrastructure for decades to come.
We design sustainability into every step — from material selection to the final delivered product. With ISO 9001 process control, highly stable extrusion systems and responsible material management, our operations focus on reducing waste, improving efficiency and optimising long-term performance.
We use only certified PE compounds compliant with AS/NZS 4131, ensuring strength, durability and resistance to corrosion. This reduces the need for repairs and replacements over the system’s service life, significantly lowering environmental impact.
Our production lines are optimised to minimise rework, downtime and offcuts. Process stability reduces material consumption, while clean, controlled handling prevents contamination — resulting in consistent quality and reduced resource usage.
PE pipes manufactured to AS/NZS 4130 and AS 2698.2 offer exceptional life expectancy, with proven resistance to chemicals, ground movement and pressure variations. Their extended service life means fewer replacements, reduced excavation and less environmental disruption.
We follow PIPA-recommended handling and storage guidelines to prevent damage, reduce waste and keep products in optimal condition. From controlled lifting practices to efficient load configuration, we keep logistics safe, streamlined and environmentally responsible.
We partner with councils, contractors and utilities to help them meet long-term environmental goals. By supplying durable, high-performing pipe systems, we enable more efficient water networks and reduced whole-of-life costs for critical infrastructure.
