DM Plastics & Steel were approached to supply more than 48 km of DN110 Metric White Co‑Ex (Lo‑Heat) SDR21 PN8 polyethylene pipe for the Western Access Road upgrade at Woomera, South Australia. The client required a high‑volume, remote delivery solution and DMP&S tailored the package to meet programme, handling and installation objectives, manufacturing the pipe in 340 m coils to reduce joints, simplify onsite handling and accelerate installation — a practical response that reflects our coiling capability and commitment to “Producing Solutions”.
The pipeline supply supported a major access‑road upgrade that involved construction of a new road to the Carrapateena Mine site off the Stuart Highway to improve heavy‑vehicle access to the range area. DMP&S managed end‑to‑end supply for the programme: production scheduling, manufacture, QA/QC, freight planning and remote delivery logistics. All coils were delivered on time and in full (OTIF) to Woomera over 10 oversized trailers, with delivery sequencing coordinated to align with the broader civil works programme and site access constraints.
To accelerate installation and reduce onsite handling risk, DMP&S made available our purpose built unreeler to assist with coil deployment. Every delivery was supplied with product material certificates and batch test documentation, with all testing and conformity checks completed in‑house by our Major Projects team to ensure traceability and full compliance with project safety and quality requirements. Delivery of this package demonstrated DMP&S’s capability to deliver large‑volume, tailored pipe solutions into remote infrastructure programmes, providing both product and practical equipment support that reduced installation time and supported safe, compliant delivery of the road upgrade.
